Game genre, audience, art direction and technical needs. We agree the scope before production.

Production requirements

Silhouette, color contrast and key details are planned for the way a character will appear on a mobile screen.
Geometry budgets, texture sizes, skeleton needs and target formats are defined with your team before the asset is built.
Reference sheets, organized files and style guidance keep character decisions clear across the production pipeline.
Delivery requirements are specific to each brief. Engine integration and testing are included only when agreed in the project scope.
Client perspectives
Feedback on character design, production requirements and the final handoff.
“Finding an art partner that truly understands mobile polycount constraints without stripping away personality is rare. Umberhall delivered four stylized hero characters rigged and ready for Unity with zero topology headaches. The weight painting around complex shoulder armor pieces held up perfectly during high-impact combat animations. They didn't just deliver models; they gave us assets that dropped straight into our build on day one.”
“Our mobile narrative game lives or dies by player empathy. We hired Umberhall to build out our central cast, and the Expression & Pose sheets were an absolute game-changer for our writing team. They captured micro-expressions—sarcasm, subtle doubt, suppressed joy—that translated brilliantly even on small smartphone displays. Their visual exploration phase saved us weeks of back-and-forth internal debate.”
“We needed a cohesive visual Bible to align three disparate external art teams for our upcoming sci-fi title. Umberhall’s style guide was brilliantly thorough, defining silhouette hierarchies, read-times, and faction color codes with surgical precision. The project ran about a week past our original schedule due to deep back-and-forth revisions during the exploratory phase, but the resulting documentation has saved us dozens of production hours down the line. Exceptional craftsmanship.”
“As a tech artist, I usually spend half my time cleaning up third-party layered files. Working with Umberhall was a breath of fresh air. Every turnaround sheet came meticulously aligned, and their 2D animation sets had layer structures that made spine integration completely frictionless. Clean pivots, labeled hierarchies, and no wasted texture memory. These artists clearly have real in-engine game dev experience.”
“We commissioned 10 hero banner illustrations for our game’s anniversary event and seasonal gacha banner. Umberhall brought an incredible dynamic energy to each pose while strictly adhering to our established franchise lore. The lighting and rim-light treatments gave the roster an immediate high-value look that significantly contributed to one of our best-performing live-ops quarters to date.”
“Designing creatures for mobile horror is tricky—you have to make them deeply unsettling without relying on hyper-realistic gore that triggers app store rejections. Umberhall nailed the eerie, uncanny silhouettes on the very first round of thumbnails. Time zone differences created a slight lag in communication during the revision stage, but the final delivered concept art has become the cornerstone of our game’s marketing pitch.”

The quote identifies the review stages and revision allowance. Feedback within the approved brief is handled at those stages. Changes to the approved direction or additional deliverables may require an updated scope and price.
Technical constraints are confirmed before production. A mobile character can be planned around the agreed silhouette, geometry budget, texture size and rig needs. Integration testing is included only when stated in the scope.
The displayed prices are starting points or typical scope ranges in USD. You receive a project-specific quote and schedule. Artwork and supporting files are delivered digitally in the formats agreed for your project.
The project agreement sets out usage rights or an assignment for the approved deliverables, along with payment conditions. Source files, unused concepts, third-party assets and any portfolio permissions are addressed separately.
